Objectives
This Task Group will promote and disseminate knowledge about the
advantages of MBS & QR throughout the European automotive sector.
This will include automotive manufacturers, suppliers and also software
companies developing control and diagnostic systems.
They will transfer
outcomes of past, existing and planned European projects throughout
the automotive sector and initiate new projects. Their expertise
will provide channels for the rapid exchange of experience between
researchers working on automotive related developments and automotive
systems developers.
By the conclusion
of this phase of the Network this Task Group will ensure that every
major European automotive player has a full understanding of the
advantages of MBS & QR, this will be demonstrated by additional
new projects and a positive impact on this sector.
Description of work
To Disseminate MBS & QR ideas and technologies by organizing
special promotional events for:
(i) Managers of companies, in which the ideas behind MBS & QR
are presented and applications are demonstrated, by seminars, audio-video
and interactive material, and
(ii) Technical people to make them aware of the technology, of its
applicability and of its potential benefits.
To Create opportunities for companies and research centres to discuss
and work on, the preparation of project proposals.
To Organize a presence of MONET at the main events in the automotive
sector, such as trade fairs, exhibitions and conferences.
To Initiate and support visits of researchers to automotive companies
and of people from automotive companies to research centres that
are active in the field.
To Promote the dissemination of results obtained in research and
application projects, via web, print, electronic discussion groups
and industry contacts.
To Promote the creation of consortia and of projects for the transference
of know-how in the building of applications in the automotive sector.
Deliverables
A1 Reports on the current state of use and the opportunities for,
MBS & QR in the European automotive sector.
A2 An outline of the areas for potential new projects to formulate
solutions to agreed problems and the advantages for European automotive
players in doing so.
A3 Generation of new projects to follow from the above.
A4-5 A Technological Roadmap for Automotive applications of MBS
& QR.
