The "BRIDGE" task group acting within the European Network
of Excellence MONET works towards the cross-fertilisation of two
distinct and parallel research communities concerned with the diagnosis
of technical systems: the FDI community in the Engineering world
and the DX community, originated from Computer Science and Artificial
Intelligence.
This workshop
is aimed at analysing the way in which diagnostic problems and solutions
should be described, identifying similarities and complementary
features in the DX and FDI methods, and contributing towards a unifying
framework which would enable one to take advantage of the synergy
of complementary techniques from the two communities. The ultimate
goal of the workshop is to produce a " Common Diagnosis Framework
Specification " document which will be the basis of deliverable
MBD2 and a selection of reference problems whose description will
be the basis of deliverable MBD3.
